Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, lest he stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”– therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken. GEN 3:22-23

Then the men rose up from there, and looked down toward Sodom; and Abraham was walking with them to send them off. And the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do, since Abraham will surely become a great and mighty nation, and in him all the nations of the earth will be blessed? For I have chosen him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice; in order that the Lord may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him.” And the Lord said, “The outcry of Sodom and Gomorrah is indeed great, and their sin is exceedingly grave. I will go down now, and see if they have done entirely according to its outcry, which has come to Me; and if not, I will know.” GEN 18:16-21

It seems that when God speaks to the patriarchs, this unified plural form is evident even if God is not seen as three men. Listen to how God first speaks to Abraham about taking Isaac to Mt. Moriah, then again when He stops him from slaying Isaac.

Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” GEN 22:1

But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” GEN 22:11

Why does God call Abraham’s name once to send him to Mt. Moriah, and then calls his name twice to stop him from slaying Isaac? Before you answer, consider how God calls to Jacob telling him to go to live with Laban and later for him to take his family and go to Egypt.

Then the angel of God said to me in the dream, “Jacob,” and I said, “Here I am.” GEN 31:11

And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night and said, “Jacob, Jacob.” And he said, “Here I am.” GEN 46:2

Why did God call Jacob’s name once and then on the following occasion call his name twice just as it happened to Abraham? Before we answer, let us agree that God does not stutter and repeat names because He has a speech impediment. Abraham and Jacob are not on these latter occasions hard of hearing. Neither are the names repeated as some kind of Hebrew idiom or expression of language. A good Torah teacher will teach you properly that there is no redundant or idle expression in the Torah. Every word means something specific.

The answer is controversial but clearly presented. Abraham’s and Jacob’s names were heard twice because of two voices from God. Abraham and Jacob heard their name spoken twice and it is recorded accurately by Moses. Moses, himself, had the same experience.

When the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush, and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” EXO 3:4

Again, God does not have a stutter problem nor is Moses hard of hearing. God is clearly presenting Himself in a plural form with two distinct voices calling out the name.

Hear Oh Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One. How many Lord’s and God’s do you hear? Answer: Two Lord’s and one God. The actual Hebrew word translated as Lord is the four consonant letters used in the name (tetragrammaton) for God, but it is spoken (not to take His Name in vain) by Hebrews as Adonai. The Hebrew word for Lord is Adonai. Adonai is masculine gender, plural. The word is “Lords.” But everyone knows to say “Lord.” The word Adon is “Lord.” The same is true for God. The Hebrew word is “Elohim.” Elohim is masculine gender, plural. The word is “Gods.” But everyone knows to say “God.” The word Eloha is “God.” The Hebrew word for “One” is echad. Echad does not mean an absolute and only one. It means a unified one (can be made of parts to form one). In fact, the Shema is stating exactly, “Hear Oh Israel, the Lords our Gods, the Lords are One.” But, we all know to say it unified in a singular form. Oh, by the way, the tetragrammaton name is made up of three different letters.

Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; EXO 34:6

How does Yeshua fit into this oral expression of God describing Himself? When Yeshua was dying on the cross, He cried out to God and quoted from Psalms 22:1.

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?” MAT 27:46
Aren’t you separating the parts of God and identifying the parts? Yes, but only to the extent that God has done so in the past and because God is illustrating the separation of sin from Himself. Since Yeshua bore our sins on the cross, shouldn’t separation be shown resulting in death?

The Messiah is clearly saying that He was pre-existent to the patriarchs and was sent by the Lord God (His Father) and followed by the Spirit. There are three parts being expressed here: 1) Lord God, 2) Me (the Messiah), and 3) the Spirit. This is what Yeshua said of Himself in being sent by His Father and that He would send the Spirit to follow.(A Psalm of David.) The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand, Until I make Thine enemies a footstool for Thy feet.” PSA 110:1

The word Lord is again the tetragrammaton sometimes pronounced “Yahweh.” For purposes of this discussion, I will refer to His Name as YHVH. Just as Yeshua asked, how is it that YHVH (the Father) asks Adonai (David’s son, the Messiah) to sit at His right side. Someone can ask themselves a question, but they can’t physically sit beside themselves. This is what Yeshua asked of those religious leaders in His day. They couldn’t answer. But, the obvious answer is that YHVH has parts, and one of those parts (the son of David) can sit at the right side of YHVH and is Adonai. David goes on to describe how the Messiah YHVH, sitting at the right hand of God, will rise up to be the LORD in the Day of the LORD.

When the Antichrist (antimessiah) comes to power, most of us will never see or deal with him directly. More likely, we will see and read news reports of his efforts, but most of us will not deal with him face to face (some will be raptured into 3rd Heavens ) This is not much consolation, however, because we will have to deal with something else concerning the Antichrist that is even more insidious and dangerous. In fact, we are having to deal with that problem right now even before he comes to power. What problem are we dealing with that is more dangerous than the person of the antichrist? You have heard of it before but maybe you did not understand how dangerous it is. It is called the Spirit of the Antichrist and it is splitting Messianic congregations and scattering brethren today.

John spoke of this spirit as coming and present even in his day.

Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen; from this we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, in order that it might be shown that they all are not of us. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth. Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. 1 JO 2:18-22
You can recognize this spirit by its denial of Yeshua of Nazareth and His Messiahship. In particular, you can detect it by the denial of deity of Yeshua the Messiah. Why is the Spirit of Antichrist more dangerous than the person of Antichrist? A person can destroy your body but not your soul and spirit. A spirit, however, can destroy your faith and in turn destroy your soul and spirit. Since the Antichrist is empowered by Satan, you can be assured that he is a liar and employs trickery and deceit to destroy your faith in Yeshua. If you deny Yeshua as your Messiah, if you say He is not God, you have denied your salvation from God and you have no hope of redemption.

Certain teachers, some striving for favor with Judaism, have called themselves messianic but are anything but believers in Yeshua the Messiah. They are not afraid to lie about Yeshua or challenge His Messiahship and deity. Their rancorous behavior formerly directed at one another now has taken aim at the Messiah.

Judaism teaches that there is One and only One God. Judaism teaches that all other references to the Angel of the Lord and the Messiah are simply the agents of God, but not God. They teach that God has no form of likeness in any manner and can not be incarnate. The following illustration is offered for comparative purposes to illustrate this belief.

Catholics teach another Gospel (read Gal 1:6-9) they teach a different Jesus. They worship Mary and pray to the DEAD something God /Jesus banned in Deut.

Mormons LDS teach Jesus had a brother named Lucifer. LDS also teach LAW OF PROGRESSION. They too have another Gospel (Book of Mormon, and Q& A)

J. Witness Let me add that there are a host of variations to the teaching of deity including “Oneness” – God has shown Himself in three different ways but His is just One God. Another variation is that God is the Father and the Son, but the Spirit of God is really the force of God, not deity like the Father or Son. The list goes on. The following illustration is offered for comparative purposes to illustrate this belief.

This will not be a shock to Judaism as they will first take issue with Yeshua’s Messiahship. This produces tremendous confusion for believers in trying to know God intimately. “they will say JESUS IS SON OF GOD ….NOT GOD. However, there are now some brethren and teachers who appear to be holding to the Torah slipping into messianic assemblies and congregations with the agenda and teaching of Judaism and its system. These persons are not seeking to know the Messiah better. They first present themselves as having studied and understanding the Hebrew text. If it were only ego mixed with a zeal to learn, it would be the opening dance of a midrash (study), but that is not what is at work. Instead, they are seeking to disturb the brethren with apparent misunderstandings, inferences of error, and outright distortions. They want to discredit Yeshua by saying He is the Son of God, but not God. They say He is Messiah, but Messiah is not God. This is not the pursuit of truth which will set you free; this is the Spirit of Antichrist which will dismantle your faith and scatter you.

TRUTH IS A PERSON NAMED JESUS

Using subtle arguments and the meanings of ancient words, they challenge Yeshua’s person directly. They attack the New Testament’s veracity and the testimony of the Apostles. They challenge the believers with their superior knowledge and impugn them as foolish and unlearned. This is not the pursuit of truth; this is front line spiritual warfare. This is the battle between light and darkness, truth and lies, God and His enemies. You can be assured that the enemy wants nothing more than to destroy your faith and mount you like a trophy for ridicule. This is why the Antichrist has come into the world, to steal what is the Lord’s and scatter the rest.

Am I opposed to the study of the Bible using the Hebrew text? Of course not. Am I saying that faith is sufficient and you should just believe what previous Christian teachers have taught regardless of the facts? Not at all. I am saying that the Spirit of Antichrist is present today and is using wolves disguised as sheep to destroy the faith of the brethren with any trick he can. Twisting Scripture and disputing what God says is just the first of his tricks. The enemy will leverage you with logic and point out your own errors (if he can) to distort and undermine your faith in the Messiahship of Yeshua.

The focus of this website is to address in a straight forward manner what God says about Himself. I can not present all of the arguments nor provide all the answers for this on-going struggle, but I can show you one particular aspect of this denying spirit and hopefully encourage you to strengthen your faith against this danger. Forgive me, if this offends you but the danger of real denial outweighs the traditional party line. This is a danger that is increasing among us because these are the days when the antichrist will come to power and be at its fullest. Here is what we presently face.

There is One and only One God; therefore Yeshua can not be God. Yeshua was a man; therefore He can not be God. God can not die; therefore when Yeshua died, he proved that he wasn’t God. The Messiah was planned, created, and sent from God as an agent of God; therefore the Messiah is not God.

All of these false statements share one thing in common. They are purposed to deny the deity of Yeshua the Messiah. The Bible clearly says that God is One, but it does not say “only One.” This is the added expression of Judaism and those attempting to dispute the Messiahship of Yeshua.

I intend to show you that the Scripture (God Himself) presents God in a plural form and that Yeshua’s statements and life is consistent with God’s own description. The fact is that God is presented in a plural form throughout Scripture and the expression of “God is One” means that He is a unified One. The United States is one nation. The Latin motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM” means “out of many, one.” The number of states is plural but the nation is unified as one. This is only one of many word pictures depicting this truth.

Let’s consider how God Himself describes Himself in the same way.

Man was not made in the image of God and any other thing. We weren’t made in the image of anything mixed with God. God Himself refers to Himself in the plural form, “Let Us… Our likeness.” To reinforce this plural point, He makes three independent statements about making mankind: 1) And God created man in His own image, 2) in the image of God He created him; 3) male and female He created them. There are no idle words or redundant expressions in the Torah. This is not a literary trick for emphasis, nor is this plural expression given as a singular instance. When God decided to remove man from the Garden of Eden, He did so for the following reason.

God Himself said that man had become like “one of Us,” a reference only to God. Only God knew about good and evil and the substance of the tree. When man ate of the tree, he became like one part of God. The logic is stunning. There are parts to God; God has a plural form. The same thing happened when God had lunch with Abraham and announced His impending judgment upon Sodom and Gomorrah. First, the Lord appeared to Abraham in the form of three men. They had lunch and then Abraham heard the Lord talk to the Lord urging the Lord to speak with Abraham.

Why would the Lord urge the Lord to share with Abraham? Why would God specifically share this information with Abraham unless he wanted him to know Him (God). This is another example of how God manifests Himself in a plural form. Just as God talked with God deciding that man should be removed from the garden, the Lord talked to the Lord deciding that Abraham should be informed about Sodom and Gomorrah.

Then the men [two of them] turned away from there and went toward Sodom, while Abraham was still standing before the Lord [one of the men]. GEN 18:22

Not only did God speak in a plural form; God presented Himself physically to Abraham in a plural form. Maybe this is why God’s covenant with Abraham came in three parts: 1) He would be the father of many nations, 2) Abraham would have a son, and 3) the seal of circumcision. Why would God makes three parts to become ONE covenant unless God was manifesting Himself to Abraham? God then caps it off by having lunch with him and three figures. Based upon Abraham’s experience, you can not say “God is One, and only One.” Instead, you would have to say, “God is One, unified from at least three parts.”

Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” GEN 22:1

But what about the Shema – the watchword of Israel? Doesn’t that singular declaration take precedence in this plural argument? Well, let’s just see how singular the Shema really is.

The sages of Israel offer an even stronger affirmation of God’s plurality in defining God’s attributes. This is emphatically taught when God speaks to Moses in the cleft of the rock. Moses had asked to see His glory. God describes God to Moses with these words.

Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; EXO 34:6

This statement begins with what the sages refer to as the thirteen attributes of God. According to the Hebrew sages, the first three of those attributes are in the words, “The Lord, the Lord God.” Again, count how many “Lord’s” and how many “God’s” you see. There are two Lord’s and one God. But, three attributes are taught because they argue that each word means something distinct from the others.

How does Yeshua fit into this oral expression of God describing Himself? When Yeshua was dying on the cross, He cried out to God and quoted from Psalms 22:1.

Why did the Psalmist write and Yeshua say, “My God, My God?” The answer is the same as before. One part of God was crying out and the other parts were listening. It is clear to us that Yeshua was crying out and the Father and Spirit were listening. But, aren’t you doing what the Trinitarians do? Aren’t you separating the parts of God and identifying the parts? Yes, but only to the extent that God has done so in the past and because God is illustrating the separation of sin from Himself. Since Yeshua bore our sins on the cross, shouldn’t separation be shown resulting in death? This is completely consistent with the Scriptural evidence of God.

The prophet Isaiah joins Moses on this plural aspect of defining God and seems to speak plainly for the Messiah. In fact His words are the very words of God in the position of the Messiah.

Come near to Me, listen to this: from the first I have not spoken in secret, from the time it took place, I was there. And now the Lord God has sent Me, and His Spirit. ISA 48:16

Yeshua restated this pre-existent point directly by saying that He existed prior to Abraham. In fact, He said that Abraham enjoyed having lunch with Him that day with the three figures under the oaks of Mamre.

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad. JOH 8:56

Maybe the best argument showing the plurality of God is the question posed by Yeshua Himself. Yeshua quoted from Psalms 110 and posed it as a question to those disputing His Messiahship. He first asked whose son the Messiah would be. They answered David. Then He asked why David wrote in his psalm about his son the Messiah.

(A Psalm of David.) The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand, Until I make Thine enemies a footstool for Thy feet.” PSA 110:1

The Lord is at Thy right hand; He will shatter kings in the day of His wrath. He will judge among the nations, He will fill them with corpses, He will shatter the chief men over a broad country. PSA 110:5-6

Let’s look at another testimony that agrees with Yeshua being at the right side of God. Stephen made a death bed declaration (while he was being stoned), and said that he saw Yeshua at the right hand of God.

And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” ACT 7:56

The Jews who were stoning him tried to block their ears from hearing Stephen while stoning him. They knew what this statement meant.

Without rehashing the previous argument, let’s address the argument that God can’t be in the flesh of a man. If the Spirit of God can dwell in the flesh of a man (and it can), then being man does not prevent God from being a man. Simply said, the Spirit of God can be in the flesh of any man. It happens all the time.

It was God’s plan that the Lamb provided by God would be the acceptable sacrifice. It also was God’s plan that the sacrifice would be a promised Son – the Messiah. By Yeshua saying that He was the Son of God, He was saying He was the one promised to us. When John the Baptist, a Levite priest, declared Yeshua to be the Lamb of God, he was to saying that Yeshua was to be the acceptable sacrifice. By the way, God’s substitution system requires a priest to do exactly that.

One is about God. Two is about the balance between God and man. Three is about the fathers and covenants. Four is about the Messiah. Five is about faith, mercy, or grace. Six is about man. Seven is about God’s plan. Eight is about new beginnings. Nine is about judgment. Ten is about having confidence in God. Twelve is about theocracy, the government of God. There are other numbers but these are the most common

Sod Level

The Sod (pronounced with a long “o”) level of the Torah is the mysterious and coded level. This involves numerology (meaning associated with certain numerical values), the word pictures and meanings associated with each letter of the alphabet and their formation into words, acrostics (words formed by letters spaced in another text), and the meanings of names.

You may have heard of the Torah codes. This is the study of equidistant letters forming names and other words patch worked together like a giant crossword puzzle. But a simpler understanding can be found in the themes for each number. Here is a simple list that bears out in Scripture repeatedly.

The Sod level of the Torah is the key to unlocking several mysteries found in the Bible. For example, the Christian world has been enthralled in a mystery concerning the identity of the antichrist for many centuries.

Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty_six. REV 13:18
